Setting up a Clinic
Without support, African Doctors can struggle to raise even limited capital to set up their own local clinic. The cost of setting up the clinic and accessing expert support is over £5,000. The average income for a Ugandan doctor is around £60-90 per month. Under these circumstances, most doctors will need to work for at least 15 years to fund a clinic. With typical borrowing rates of 30-35% even successful clinics are unprofitable after loan repayments of around £170 per month.

Clinic Africa propose a solution to this problem that will give doctors their own clinics that can become profitable within a year.
