About Uganda
Straddling the Equator, Uganda is a country of incredible contrasts, from the lush tropical rainforests of the South, to the arid desert of the North. It covers a similar land area to the UK, but with around half the population.

Away from the capital Kampala, the majority of the people survive through agriculture, working Uganda's famously fertile red soils.
